The above photo was taken from Glacier Point. During sunset, hundreds of people gather at Glacier Point to enjoy the view and the setting sun. If you’ve succeeded, the Half Dome will turn a beautiful orange-red and slowly the shadow will fall over Yosemite Valley.

Glacier Point Road Closed

Work on Glacier Point Road will take place in 2022 and 2023, from spring to fall. The road will be completely closed in 2022. The road will be opened in 2023, but you have to count on significant delays. Although the work will be from spring to fall, the other months the road will be closed due to weather conditions. If you want to know exactly what will be done during the contruction, visit the website of nps.gov

Hike to Glacier Point

The Four Mile Trail, Pohono Trail, and Panorama Trail will remain open in 2022 and 2023. Hikers must stay away from the work zones during the work. Trailheads along Glacier Point Road will close in 2022. Hikers must access trails from connecting trails and trailheads outside the Glacier Point Road corridor. In the southern part of Yosemite, all trails will remain open.

Bike along Glacier Point Road

Although it is very tempting, you are not allowed to ride your bicycle on Glacier Point Road during the works. The reason for this is to protect safety for both cyclists and construction workers.
