Fees and entrance charges

Glacier Basin Campground is a seasonal campground open from May 21 through the night of September 7, 2026. The campground will close at noon on September 8.

Campground Fees (Per Site/Per Night)

$35.00 for standard nonelectric sites/tent sites

$50 for small group sites (may accomodate up to 15 people)

$60 for medium group sites (may accomodate 16-25 people)

$70 for large group sites (may accomodate 26-40 people)

Directions

From Estes Park, CO:

Drive on U.S. Highway 36 west from Estes Park. The closest entrance to the park is the Beaver Meadows Entrance. The turn for Bear Lake Road is approximately 0.2 miles from the Beaver Meadows Entrance, located on the left side of the road.

Drive up Bear Lake Road 5.2 miles. The turn to enter Glacier Basin Campground is located on the left side of Bear Lake Road and across from the Park & Ride parking area.

From Grand Lake, CO:

Drive on U.S. Highway 34 east, which becomes Trail Ridge Road inside the park. Enter at the Grand Lake Entrance. Follow Trail Ridge Road east across the continental divide approximately 40 miles. When you come to Deer Ridge Junction, follow the signs for U.S. Hwy 36/Beaver Meadows Entrance. The turn for Bear Lake Road will be on your right, approximately 0.2 miles before the exit to the park.

Drive up Bear Lake Road 5.2 miles. The turn to enter Glacier Basin Campground is located on the left side of Bear Lake Road and across from the Park & Ride parking area.

Access, rules and important notes

  • Four sites are available for those customers with a disability or otherwise limited mobility who would benefit from the accessibility design features.
  • 1 Generators may only be run between 7:30 - 10 am and 4 - 8:30 pm.
  • Sites C76 - 104 and Group loop: no generators allowed.
  • RVs and trailers are not allowed in the group loop.
  • 35 Paved Roads - All vehicles OK Fires are only allowed in metal fire grates.
  • Never leave fires or coals unattended.
  • Fires must be completely extinguished before leaving campsite or going to bed.
  • Gathering firewood or fire-starting materials is prohibited One solar shower stall are available; visitors must provide their own solar heated shower bag.
  • Official facility accessibility flag: No. Check individual site details for accessible campsites.
  • There is an eight (8) person limit per site.
  • Each camping site is limited to: one camping unit (i.e., a tent, RV, or trailer/tow vehicle) plus one additional tent.
  • All tents shall be located on the tent pad.
  • All additional camp structures must be self standing without impacts to vegetation or trees.
  • Parking is limited to two (2) vehicles per site.
  • A vehicle is defined as one vehicle, one trailer, one RV, or one towed unit.
  • Each vehicle must be parked on the gravel or paved parking pad causing no resource degradation or encroachment onto the paved access road.
  • Some sites will accommodate only one vehicle on the graveled parking pad.
