I am visiting Rocky Mountain NP in October. Can I see everything on 1 day? What are the must do/see while I am there? Any important information I need to know?

Hi Christina! Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to visit Rocky Mountain National Park myself yet, so I can’t give you any first-hand advice.

RMNP is beautiful but huge! If you want to see the most you can in a day, I would recommend using a tour company. We have done this a few times when we have brought family with us who have limited time. That way they can drive and you can just enjoy the park.

You also save a lot of time not having to think about parking, route planning, or which stops are actually worth prioritizing. With only one day, that can make a pretty big difference, especially if the park is busy.


The other advantage is that a decent guide usually knows where to stop for the best views and how to adjust the route depending on weather or traffic. It turns the day into more sightseeing and less logistics.

We burned way more time than expected just finding spots to stop too, so the tour option makes sense for a one-day visit.

October daylight disappears fast, so a tour at least keeps the day from turning into a parking scavenger hunt.
