Yellowstone Bison Attack (July 2026) – Have You Ever Experienced a Wildlife Encounter?

I just watched the video of the recent bison attack at Yellowstone, where a visitor was seriously injured after being tossed into the air by a bull bison near Bridge Bay Campground. From what I've read, witnesses said the bison was already visibly agitated, and the incident happened incredibly fast.

I'll attach the video below because it really shows how quickly wildlife behavior can change, even when people appear to be keeping some distance.

It made me wonder how many people here have had close encounters with wildlife in our national parks.
  • Have you ever had a scary experience with a bison, bear, moose, elk, or any other wild animal?
  • Did it change the way you explore or photograph wildlife?
  • What lessons did you learn that you think every first-time visitor should know?
I've visited Yellowstone before, and it's a good reminder that these animals are truly wild and unpredictable.

I'd love to hear your stories and any advice you have for staying safe while still enjoying these amazing parks.
